4 Reasons to Fit a Wall-Mounted Pivot Mirror in Your Bathroom

Almost every bathroom will have a large mirror already fitted, but that doesn't mean you won't benefit from further reflective surfaces. In fact, one of the best additions you can make to your bathroom is a wall-mounted pivot mirror. These smaller mirrors are attached to an extendable arm that can be moved out at will, and they come with several fantastic benefits.

Here are just four.

1. Reflects Different Angles

One of the best things about fitting a wall mounted pivot mirror is being able to see your face from different angles. This isn't all about vanity — seeing your face from different angles makes it easier to shave or put on makeup. Instead of having to keep turning your face to the side or lifting up your chin to try seeing where you're going, you'll just direct the mirror accordingly, making it easier to shave those trickier spots. Equally, you can move the mirror while applying makeup to ensure an even coat across all areas.

2. Provides a Closer Look

Most mirrors that pivot outwards can also be turned on their axis, essentially providing two different sides; one will be normal, but the other will magnify your reflection. If you need to apply makeup around your eyes, pull out a small hair, squeeze a small blackhead or even just check out your pores, it's nice to have a mirror right at hand that can give you a closer look at your skin.

3. Gets Right Up Close

Most main bathroom mirrors will be hung on the wall right above the sink. That's perfect for plenty of uses, but it can mean that it's very hard to get close to the mirror itself; to do so, you'll have to bend forwards over the sink, which can feel uncomfortable after more than a few seconds and even prove dangerous if the floor is still wet from a shower or bath. With a pivot mirror, you bring the mirror to you instead of the other way around.

4. Space Saving and Convenient

Finally, installing a pivot mirror in your bathroom is perfect for making the most of your available space. Folded back flat against the wall, it won't get in your way, and you won't have to keep a smaller magnification mirror in a drawer somewhere instead. When you need it, all you'll need to do is pull it outwards. When you're using it, you won't need to hold it in position or bend down until you're on the right level; instead, it will extend outwards at face height and then remain still.
